What is EXIF Data & Why Should You Remove It?

Every time you take a photo with a smartphone or digital camera, the device embeds hidden information into the image file called EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data. This metadata includes technical details like camera model, exposure, and ISO settings. More importantly, if location services are enabled, it embeds the exact GPS coordinates of where you were standing when the photo was taken.

Privacy & Security Risks

Sharing unscrubbed photos on blogs, forums, or messaging apps can inadvertently reveal your home address or daily routines to strangers. The OnlinePaste Metadata Viewer allows you to inspect this hidden data and use the "Scrub & Download" feature to permanently erase all GPS and tracking data before you share it online.

100% Client-Side Scanning

Privacy tools shouldn't require you to upload your private photos to a third-party server. Our tool uses advanced JavaScript libraries to read the EXIF binary headers and strip the metadata completely inside your web browser. No data is ever transmitted to our servers.
